hex file for two devices

Hi,
I would like to have my PCB work with to different devices: 16F873A and 16F876A without changing device directive in the code and recompiling the code. Is it possible? I have tried some #if directives but without success.

The 2 devices are virtually identical except that the '876A has more program memory, more ram and more eeprom. As long as your program fits into the 873A, and uses only the resources of that part, you should be able to load it directly into the 876A and run it without a problem. We have done this in the past with other parts with success.
