Is it possible to connect a simple switch through the serial port without using any active components? If so, which pin/s and how should it be done? |

We simply just want a single switch connected to the PC. At the moment we use the game port and use it just for the switch - quite expensive!
We don't want to design a board just for this simple application. We want to cut down on costs.
Imagine having over 100 PCs having a games card for each one. It's too costly.
The PCs will run ca ustom application but require a footswitch connected to each one. |
