USB first proyect

I'would like start my first proyect using usb port
something like send a ADc result from a 16f873 to the PC.
what can i do ?? what i need, a usb chip ? what should i read ?

Can I suggest you start with the "Embedded C Language Development Kit for PIC MIcro MCU". It comes with a small a basic PIC development board and a manual which details some basic examples. It is an excellent way to get started. This will give you some ideas on the sort of things you can do with PICs.
