Making a menu with 3 buttons and a LCD

Hello,
Sorry for the question, but I'm a newbie in PIC C (I used to program with a PBASIC Compiler, but I realized C was much better). I have to make a rutine that scan for 3 buttons, UP, DOWN and SELECT. So with UP and DOWN you choose a option from a menu (written in a LCD using LCD.C) If a have 5 options in my menu, the rutine shows the first one, with UP the rutine shows the last one, and with DOWN it shows the next one. When you press SELECT, it calls a Subrutine and BREAK the loop.
