18f46j50 vs. 18f442

Hi,

We are thinking to use 18f46j50 to replace 18f442 chip. Three questions:

1. Is it possible NOT to change HW design for 18f442 and switch to 18f46j50?
2. Which version of compiler is a stable version that support 18f46j50?
3. Is any fee required to update compiler?
