Installing Two CCS Compilers
PostPosted: Mon Oct 05, 2020 4:21 pm     Reply with quote

THEN

We had the Mark Siegesmund book E3 download Mini compiler installed successfully.

Had Exercise Book open in startup and everything.

We installed Rapid USB compiler.

We were expecting two nice little new CCS icons on desktop.

That never happened.

Then the remaining compiler had no exercise book open.

We just uninstalled it and re installed download only.

NOW

E3 compiler is installed.

We are about to install 16F877 Sensors kit compiler.

How do we get two complete and separate installs please?

Thanks!

You have two single-chip only CCS IDE compilers.
One IDE compiler is for the 16F1459, for the Rapid USB product.
The other IDE compiler is for the 18F14K50, for the E3 Mini product.

Read this post by Ttelmah where he explains that he has 30 different
versions of the IDE compiler installed:

Thank you PCM programmer

Will think that over.

Apparently our new compiler is a disk copy of E3 Mini Text Book one.

For 18F14K50.

Looks like it goes with the Sensors kit.

Then we have the 16F877 Development Kit hardware only.

Will work on a CCS compiler for that.

Probably the Hobby version.
