Hello,

A freind of mine accidentally update the firmware of the ICD-U using the firmware version of ICD-U40 Crying or Very sad

I need your help guys on how I can recover it using the firmware of ICD-U?

E-mail [mailto:ccs@ccsinfo.com] and tell them your problem. They should be able to recover it for you, but may charge you for the shipping cost.

Hi,

If you have another ICD-U or ICD-S you can use this device to re-program d other ICD-U that was accidentally damage....

here is the step on how-to:
[1] open the plastic case of the damage ICD-U
[2] it should have a PIC16F876A on it... try look at the datasheet for the MCLR, PGD, PGM, PGC, VDD, & VSS pin.
[3] solder a wire to this pin and the other end of the wire should be connected to your another ICD device for re-programming.
[4] look for a file bootload.hex and ccsicd20.hex download this to your damage ICD-U.
[5] download the bootload.hex followed by ccsicd20.hex
[6] you're done.... return the plastic case.
